Over time, dust and debris accumulate on your panels, mountings, inverter and batteries. Power surges, water ingress, hail, wind, UV exposure, vermin and normal wear-and-tear can all cause deterioration and safety issues with your solar system.

What do the Solar Sentinel Support Packages Include?

  • Professional panel clean (our Solar Sentinel teams use purpose-built solar panel cleaning equipment and water that has been filtered through an ion exchange filtration system to prevent stains and smears on the panels)
  • Examining the racking system for rust, corrosion, sagging and for loose or missing bolts
  • Inspecting panels for visual defects such as damage, burn marks or discolouration (thermal imaging available as an added extra)
  • Inspect the integrity of PV of connectors, wiring, cableways and associated waterproofing measures
  • Highlighting new shading concerns

Additional panel cleans can be booked at any necessary time during the year and will be charged for separately if not incorporated into your service level agreement with us.

  • Recommended routine preventative maintenance on inverters, batteries and communications equipment
  • Firmware upgrades when indicated
  • Inspection of your installation’s AC and DC electrical connections, fuses, breakers, wiring and cableways
  • Checking surge protection devices and testing the functionality of the installation – inverters, batteries and solar panels.

Note: The health check does not include additional time or materials required to complete remedial work identified during the inspection.

The discount applies to all Solar Sentinel callouts but excludes materials required for the work and costs for work done by third parties such as OEM repair centres.

If critical equipment is removed for testing, repair or replacement, we will try to assist you with a loan unit to provide continuity of backup power and energy savings. A nominal rental fee is charged. This service is unfortunately dependent on the availability of appropriate loan units in our workshop.

Our process for onboarding clients with existing Solar PV installations:

  1. Telephonic assessment to clarify whether the main components of your installation are brands that we can support
    (while we support a range of different renewable energy brands, these were carefully chosen for their quality, reliability, after-sales technical support and availability, and our technicians and technical support team are properly trained specifically on these brands).
  2. A technician is scheduled to complete a comprehensive on-site audit of your system.
  3. You receive a report on the state of your system and a quote on any remedial work that may be required.
  4. Once we are satisfied that your system is properly installed, safe and compliant, you can sign up for our Solar Sentinel client support package.
